Quick Facts
Where to Get Borderlands 4
So you wanna know where to throw your money when the pre-orders finally go live and everyone starts panic buying their copies at the same time like it's Black Friday but for a video game that isn't even out yet and probably won't be for another few months at least depending on when Gearbox decides to actually give us the release date instead of just saying 2026 and leaving us all hanging. But here's the thing tho. Pre-orders aren't live yet. And I'm gonna check every single day until they are and you should probably do the same if you wanna secure a copy on day one because these things tend to sell out fast especially the collector's editions with all the physical goodies that scalpers immediately resell on eBay for like three times the original price which is honestly infuriating but what are you gonna do about it you know. Also the Game Pass situation is still kinda murky and nobody at Microsoft has confirmed anything solid one way or the other despite the community asking about it constantly for months now. But the platforms below will definitely have it available on day one no question about it and that much we can be pretty confident about based on the official announcements, the store listings, the community data miners who've been digging through backend APIs, and stuff like that.

EpicStart With These Three BL4 Routes
I know exactly how it feels when you land on a wiki and there's like a million links everywhere. Because the homepage is somehow more confusing than the actual endgame boss fights and that's really saying something when you consider how chaotic some of those encounters get with all the particle effects and explosions and damage numbers flying everywhere until you can barely tell what's happening on screen anymore. And I've been there myself more times than I'm willing to admit. But here's the thing. Just pick whichever one of these three things matters to you right now in this moment and don't overthink it at all. These three categories are basically what like 90% of people come to this site for anyway and I'm pretty sure you're gonna end up clicking through all of them eventually because that's just how Borderlands works and I've accepted it at this point after years of telling myself I'd just look up one thing and then somehow still being on the wiki three hours later with 47 tabs open and a search history that looks like it belongs to someone who's completely lost their mind over a video game that isn't even out yet. So basically pick your poison and dive in, you get the idea.
I want to find the best guns
I mean the gun game in Borderlands is literally the entire reason I play these games at all and tbh if the shooting wasn't this stupidly satisfying I probably would have quit after the first one and moved on to some other franchise like a normal well-adjusted person who doesn't spend their weekends farming the same boss 200 times in a row hoping for a 1% drop that statistically speaking is never gonna happen but somehow still feels like it might on the very next run and that tiny sliver of hope is what keeps me going every single time even though the math says I should probably just give up and go outside and touch some grass or something. This database has every legendary weapon with actual verified stats that I've checked personally against multiple independent sources because I don't trust any single wiki to be 100% accurate on its own and lemme tell you that level of paranoia has saved me from farming the wrong boss for the wrong gun more times than I can count at this point so it was definitely worth the extra effort even though it probably makes me sound like a crazy person who takes video game wikis way too seriously.
I want to optimize my Vault Hunter
In my experience a properly optimized build is literally the difference between spending 20 painful minutes on a single boss fight and absolutely deleting that same boss in about 30 seconds flat and I'm genuinely not exaggerating about that at all because I've tested this extensively across multiple characters and the difference between a random assortment of legendaries and a carefully planned build with proper synergies is just night and day and there's really no comparison between the two approaches once you've experienced how smooth a good build feels to play versus the frustrating mess that a bad build turns into around midgame when enemies start scaling up and suddenly your gear that felt overpowered two levels ago is barely tickling basic enemies let alone bosses with actual health bars. I've personally tested builds that look absolutely incredible on paper with all the right numbers and synergies and theoretical DPS calculations but then completely fall apart in actual gameplay because the theory doesn't account for things like enemy movement patterns and damage windows and the fact that you can't always stand in one place and fire continuously for 10 seconds without getting absolutely destroyed by everything on screen. It happens more often than you'd think and it's always disappointing when a build you spent hours planning turns out to be useless in practice but that's just part of the process and the builds that do work end up feeling even better because of all the trial and error that went into discovering them in the first place.
I'm new to Borderlands
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being new to the series and honestly I kinda envy you a little bit because you get to experience everything for the first time without any spoilers or expectations and that feeling of discovering something amazing in a game for the very first time is something you can never really get back once you've already seen it so you should probably savor it while it lasts and not rush through everything trying to get to the endgame as fast as possible because the journey is honestly just as good as the destination with these games and sometimes even better depending on how much you enjoy the stupid humor and ridiculous characters and completely unhinged side quests that the writers clearly had way too much fun putting together in the writers room at whatever ungodly hour of the night they were working on them. Everyone starts somewhere my dude and the learning curve is actually pretty manageable once you get past the first few hours of confusion that hits absolutely everyone when they're first figuring out how the weapon system works and why some guns have red text with weird effects that aren't explained anywhere in the game itself because Gearbox apparently thinks it's funny to make players figure everything out through trial and error and online wikis like this one that exist specifically because the game refuses to explain its own mechanics half the time and just expects you to either know already or spend hours experimenting until something clicks and you finally understand why that gun with lower damage numbers was actually way better than the one with higher numbers because of some hidden multiplier that only activates under specific conditions that the game never tells you about at any point during the entire campaign or any of the tutorial popups that flash by in half a second and you accidentally close before you can read what they said because you were in the middle of a firefight and couldn't exactly stop to read a wall of text while being shot at by 15 different enemies at the same time.
Latest BL4 News and Updates
Mostly confirmed stuff from official sources that Gearbox has actually verified and isn't just random speculation from some guy on Discord who claims to have an uncle that works at the studio and totally knows what's really going on behind the scenes even though his story changes every time someone asks him a follow up question. So yeah, take everything with a grain of salt. Plus some leaks that actually look pretty legit based on what we've already seen in the trailers and the gameplay previews that Gearbox has been slowly trickling out over the past few months whenever they feel like throwing the community a bone to keep us from going completely feral with anticipation. Also the usual stuff. Screenshots, teaser images, cryptic tweets that the community decodes in like 45 seconds flat, dev interviews where they accidentally say too much and then walk it back the next day, you get the idea.

Borderlands 4 Officially Announced
Gearbox finally said the actual words out loud at that big gaming event and the whole community basically lost its collective mind for a solid week straight after the announcement trailer dropped and everyone started overanalyzing every single frame for hidden details and easter eggs that may or may not have actually been there depending on how much copium you were huffing at the time. New planets we've never seen before. Brand new Vault Hunters with abilities that look genuinely different this time. Probably new weapon types too based on what they've been hinting at in interviews and social media posts and cryptic tweets that the community has been decoding like we're trying to solve some kind of ARG.

BL4 Weapon System: What's New
Over 1 billion weapon combinations and I mean that's just an absolutely bonkers number when you actually stop and think about what that means in practical terms and realize that even if you played this game for the literal rest of your natural life without ever stopping to eat or sleep or do anything else besides play Borderlands 4 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year you would still never see every possible gun that the procedural generation system can theoretically produce which is both amazing and also kinda terrifying when you think about it too much and I'm definitely not gonna think about it too much because that way lies madness and an existential crisis about the nature of video game content and the impossibility of ever truly completing a game with a procedurally generated loot system that ensures you will always have something new to chase no matter how many hours you've already put into the grind and how many legendaries you've already collected and stored in your vault that you'll probably never actually use because you're too attached to your current loadout to switch things up even though you know you should probably experiment more and try different weapon types and elements and builds instead of just using the same five guns for 200 hours straight because they're comfortable and familiar and you know exactly how they perform in every situation and you don't wanna risk swapping to something new that might feel worse even if the stats say it should be better on paper which has happened to me more times than I'd like to admit over the years of playing this franchise.

Meet the New Vault Hunters
Four brand new characters each with three deep skill trees and unique action skills that actually play differently from each other unlike some previous games in the series where the characters kinda blurred together after you'd been playing for a while and stopped feeling like meaningfully different choices with their own identities and playstyles and reasons to pick one over another beyond just which one had the most broken endgame build according to whatever YouTuber was trending that particular week with a clickbait thumbnail and a video title in all caps about how this one specific build would completely change the way you play Borderlands forever and you'd never go back to any other character ever again once you tried it and then a month later the same YouTuber would release another video about a completely different build that was now the new best thing and everyone would immediately switch over and the cycle would just keep repeating itself endlessly until the next game came out and the whole process started all over again from scratch with a fresh set of characters and skills and builds to obsess over and optimize and argue about on Reddit at 3am when everyone should really be sleeping instead of debating the finer points of skill tree synergies with strangers on the internet who will never agree with you no matter how many spreadsheets of DPS calculations you present as evidence for your position.
Most Popular BL4 Guides
Not gonna lie the boss guide gets absolutely slammed with traffic every single day. Because everyone wants to know what drops where and which bosses are actually worth the time investment versus which ones are a complete waste of effort that you should probably skip entirely unless you're a completionist who needs to check every single box in the game. But the map stuff gets a ton of views too. Plus the builds section gets hammered. And the legendary database is always busy. Also all the other guide pages and farming routes and endgame strategy stuff that people are always searching for at 3am when they should be sleeping instead of obsessing over that one legendary that refuses to drop no matter how many times they kill the same boss over and over again. Anyway you get the idea, it's pretty much everything you'd expect from a Borderlands wiki and then some.

BL4 Boss Guide and Loot Tables
Lemme tell you something I learned the hard way after literally thousands of hours of farming bosses across basically every Borderlands game that's ever been released and countless nights where I stayed up way too late telling myself just one more run and then I'll go to bed but I never actually went to bed and just kept farming until the sun came up because I was absolutely convinced that the next kill would be the one that finally dropped the god roll I'd been chasing for weeks and I couldn't bear the thought of going to sleep and potentially missing it even though that makes absolutely no logical sense and the drop rates don't change based on how tired you are or what time of day it is or whether the sun is up or not and yet here we are still falling for the same psychological trap every single time like we've learned nothing in the last decade and a half of playing these games.

Legendary Weapons Database
I have personally catalogued every single legendary, pearl, and seraph weapon in the entire game and organized the whole thing by manufacturer and element because I'm not a monster and I refuse to make people scroll through a giant unsorted list of 200 plus guns looking for one specific Maliwan SMG with the right element and the right parts and the right everything else that you need for a perfect roll that matches your build and your playstyle and your personal preferences for how a gun should feel when you fire it because that stuff actually matters more than people give it credit for and a gun with perfect stats that feels terrible to shoot is worse than a slightly suboptimal gun that feels amazing to use and makes you actually want to play the game instead of dreading every trigger pull because the recoil pattern is awful and the fire rate is just slightly wrong and the reload animation takes like half a second longer than it should which adds up over the course of a fight and ends up costing you more damage than any stat advantage you might have gotten from the perfect roll in the first place but nobody ever talks about that in their build guides because they're too focused on theoretical maximum DPS to consider how the gun actually feels to use in practice which is arguably just as important if not more so because a gun you hate using is a gun you're gonna replace the moment you find something that feels better even if the numbers are slightly lower and that's just how the human brain works whether we like it or not.

BL4 Map and Locations
Detailed maps of every single planet in the game and every zone within each of those planets and I do mean absolutely every single zone because there's always that one hidden area tucked behind some breakable wall or locked behind an obscure side quest that literally nobody finds until someone posts about it on Reddit three months after the game launches with a screenshot and a title like "found this after 300 hours had no idea it existed" and suddenly everyone who thought they'd already explored the entire game realizes they missed an entire section of the map and has to go back and comb through every single zone all over again like they're playing the game for the first time which is honestly both frustrating and also kind of amazing when you think about it because how many games can still surprise you 300 hours in and make you feel like there's more to discover even after you thought you'd seen absolutely everything the game had to offer and your completion percentage was sitting at 100% and you were about to move on to a different game entirely until you saw that Reddit post and realized you'd been living a lie this entire time and your 100% completion was actually more like 97% because of one collectible hidden behind three layers of obscure requirements that nobody would ever figure out on their own without a guide like this one that specifically exists to prevent exactly this kind of situation from happening to anyone else ever again.

Complete BL4 Guides
Mayhem mode explained in a way that actually makes sense without all the confusing jargon and unnecessary complexity and walls of text that make your eyes glaze over after two paragraphs and you just close the tab and give up and never come back and I've been there myself more times than I can count and I absolutely refuse to write guides like that because what's the point of creating a guide that nobody can actually understand or follow without already being an expert in the thing the guide is supposed to be teaching you about in the first place which completely defeats the entire purpose of having a guide at all and you might as well just not write anything and save everyone the time and frustration of trying to decipher whatever incomprehensible mess you've created and posted online under the pretense of being helpful when it's actually just making things worse for everyone involved including yourself because now you've wasted your own time writing something that nobody will ever read past the first two sentences before they close the tab and go look for a different guide that was written by someone who actually understands how to explain things to beginners without drowning them in technical jargon they've never heard of and will never need to know because they're just trying to enjoy a video game without getting a PhD in Borderlands mechanics first and writing a dissertation on the optimal anointment combinations for each individual weapon archetype across all six manufacturers and all five elements with full consideration for class mod interactions and artifact bonuses and guardian rank perks and every other variable that affects your damage output in ways that nobody has fully mapped out yet because the game's damage formula is so complex and has so many interacting multipliers and conditional effects and hidden mechanics that even the developers probably couldn't tell you exactly how it all works without consulting a spreadsheet that someone on the balance team made three years ago and nobody has updated since because the person who made it left the company and nobody else knows how to read the formulas they used or what half of the variables even refer to anymore.
BL4 FAQ
Quick answers to the stuff literally everyone asks when they first hear about Borderlands 4 and start googling every question they can think of at 2am instead of just going to sleep like a normal human being with basic self control. And if your question isn't here on the homepage, check the full FAQ page. Maybe I've answered it there already. Or maybe not, I'm not 100% sure I covered every possible thing anyone could ever wonder about this game. But I tried. That counts for something right.
